On the day of Dhanteras, Hindu devotees worship Goddess Lakshmi, along with Lord Kubera who is the God of wealth. Lakshmi Puja is also performed on Amavasya after two days of Dhantrayodashi which is considered more significant. The day of Dhanteras is also observed as Dhanwantari Triodasi. It marks the birth anniversary of Lord Dhanvantari – the God of Ayurveda.
Lakshmi Puja on Dhanteras is performed during Pradosh Kaal which starts after sunset and approximately lasts for 2 hours and 24 minutes. This year, Pradosh Kaal begins at 05:28 PM and ends at 08:07 PM on November 13. The Dhanteras Puja Muhurat begins at 05:28 PM and ends at 05:59 PM on Friday.
