NEW DELHI: Due to the current Covid-19 situation in the country, Skoda Auto postponed the India launch of Kushaq to July.
The SUV, based on the MQB AO IN platform, was revealed in March and will take on the likes of Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos.

Zac Hollis, Skoda Auto India brand head, taking to Twitter, said, “Kushaq prices and specifications will be announced in June.”
Skoda Auto recently debuted the fourth-gen Fabia globally. Hollis ruled out immediate India launch instead reiterated a new sedan by the end of 2021.
“Future models are still in discussion. A CBU would be very uncompetitive due to import duties.,” Hollis said while replying to an inquiry on new Fabia.

Skoda Kushaq will offer two turbo-petrol engine options: 1.0 L TSI and 1.5 L TSI, and three transmission choices.
Kushaq’s delay may well mean VW Taigun’s arrival timeline will be adjusted. Both the SUVs are based on the platform, share identical engine options are part of VW Group‘s ambitious India 2.0 Project.
