BMW has announced that the development of the next Mini is under way. This comes after the brand had earlier announced that the next Mini will be electric and the launch a new Min Convertible only a few weeks ago.
The new model will be a successor to the recently unveiled car and will dump the combustion engine for electric motors instead.
“The MINI Convertible has a large and particularly loyal fan base. This is also shown by the great demand for the latest, freshly updated model,” says Bernd Körber, Head of the MINI brand. “We are therefore firmly convinced of the success of this vehicle concept for the future” he added.
The new Mini is already riding the waves of success. On the outside, the bright Zesty Yellow color scheme is complemented by a newly designed hexagonal grille up front. The black wheel arch surrounds have been given new contours and the Union Jack designed rear lights come as standard.
The car comes with three equally powerful and efficient engines with MINI TwinPower Turbo technology. The John Cooper Works (JCW) comes fitted with a range-topping 231hp engine.
The Mini Convertible is the only open-top four-seater in the premium small car segment. The successor to this model is scheduled to be unveiled in 2025.
