GLA prices to be revised upwards by up to Rs 1.5 lakh from July 1, 2021. The GLA’s launch had been delayed from April to the end of May due to the disruption caused by the pandemic.
GLA has grown wider, taller and roomier thanks to segment-best wheelbase at 2729 mm and greater headroom at 1037 mm.
The 220d diesel avatar is powered by a 2-litre engine mated to an 8G-tronic transmission. Diesel is available in both 2WD and 4WD options.
The 2WD 200 petrol gets a 1.3-litre engine, which is mated to a 7G-DCT gearbox. The AMG variant gets a 2-litre petrol engine, which produces 306 horsepowers and 400Nm while mated to an 8G-tronic gearbox.
New GLA features the latest telematics generation MBUX (NTG6). MBUX is a holistic telematics concept, which interweaves a 10.25 inch touchscreen, touchpad with haptic feedback, and touch control buttons in the steering wheel into a simplified and modern intuitive user interface.
The front seats are all-electric adjustment with memory function. Inside the cabin, GLA boasts of a panoramic sunroof, ambient light with 64 colours, wood/aluminium trim, 2-zone automatic climate control AC and wireless charging.
The new GLA and the AMG GLA 35 4M feature a best-in-industry 8-year warranty on engine and transmission, in addition to the segment-leading 3-year comprehensive warranty.
